COURSE Outline and Objectives
This class compliments the academic programs at Chester County Junior High School through physical activity, student leadership and interaction. Students will enhance their health, coordination, and critical thinking skills.

Pickleball rules and tournament play
Track and Field events
Volleyball rules and tournament play
Basketball
Wiffleball
Cooperative games
Tumbling
Tae-bo (kickboxing)
CLASS PROCEDURES
· Meet in role call area as designated
· You listen when I talk and I'll listen when you talk.
· Always suit out in PE clothes
· Stay on task – NO HORSEPLAY!
· Never leave class or the P.E. area without permission.
· BE RESPECTFUL OF OTHERS.
GRADING SCALE
A grade is taken almost every day (with exceptions being shortened days and picture days). Not dressing out results in a 50 for the daily grade. Not participating also results in a 50 for the daily grade. Not dressing out and not participating will result in a 0 for the daily grade. Any student not able to participate will need a doctor’s note. Please see Daily Participation for further explanation.
DRESS REGULATIONS
1. All students must change into PE clothes for class unless otherwise noted by teacher.
2. You will not be allowed to participate unless you are dressed in PE type clothes.
3. The PE clothes includes
· Properly tied athletic shoes (no sandals, boots or street shoes, etc.)
· Workout clothes use for sporting activities (Students must follow school regulations on PE clothes-Example: No short shorts)
4. Although not required, it is highly recommended that students wear school colors in the gymnasium. Blue shirts and shorts, Red shirts, Blue Shorts/Pants
5. Student's that refuse to dress out (non-suit) will complete the Physical Education's Non-Suit assignment.
DAILY PARTICIPATION
· Students who do not participate for any reason will receive a 50 for their daily grade. See Ms. Griffin for optional assignments to make up multiple days missed.
· Make up assignments must be turned in within 1 week of the non-suit or medical day to receive full credit.
· You may use a maximum of 4 medical days per semester. After 2 medical days, you need a note from your doctor.
