Teacher of the Year

 

 

Mrs. Sandra Goodwin

 

    Mrs. Goodwin has a Master's Degree from Freed-Hardeman University. She has been employed at Chester County Jr. High since 1991. During this time, she has taught 7th and 8th grade music, 7th and 8th grade reading, 7th  grade spelling, 7th grade art, 7th grade study skills, 7th grade problem solving, and 7th grade math. She is sponsor for the CCJHS Courtesy Club. The goal of this club is to extend courtesy and respect to students and faculty at CCJHS and in our community.  This club has many activities, which promote training of future teachers. In 1995, she was selected to Who's Who Among Teachers of America.  Mrs. Goodwin also volunteers her services to other clubs and activities as needed.

 

    Mrs. Goodwin stated "The recognition I value the most from my teaching career is what I receive from my students, peers, and supervisors."  Students say they have "never liked math until this year".  "I understand math now".

Our superintendent commends Mrs. Goodwin on her wonderful attitude and cooperative nature.  Mr. West, our principal, says that "Mrs. Goodwin is to be commended for being so flexible and cooperative in seeking and using new material for her classes."
