ACCELERATED READING GRADE:
The AR grade will be entered twice during a grading period.
The book must be 4.5 reading level or higher. The CCJHS library must have an AR
test on the book you read and the test must be taken at CCJHS.
AR points earned for a grade must be earned during reading
class on the designated library day. Special permission will be given for testing during other
times. AR points earned at other times without special permission will be
deducted from the total points earned
for a grade. This policy has been developed because of dishonesty in
student AR testing.
New points must be earned every grading period. Example: if
a student earns 7.5 points the first six weeks, his/her grade would be 92. If
the student wants to earn a 100 the second six weeks, he/she would have to have
a total of 17.5 points. A student cannot carry extra points from one six weeks
to the next six weeks.
