Dear Parents of Beta Members,

The Jr. Beta convention dates are November 20-22. ( Monday and Tuesday)  We are leaving on Sunday afternoon.

We have been announcing deadlines, etc. to the Beta members in our meetings.  Here is an update on our fundraiser and convention information.

DEADLINE FOR MONEY:

The deadline for all money to be turned in is October 7.  We must have our reservations along with our money sent in to Opryland Hotel and to the National Beta office by October 17.  Mr. Bright and I will be coming to school during fall break to work on getting our entry forms for competition and our reservations made.  We have to send our money at the time we register.

FOOD COST:

Students will be eating their meals in the mall or in the hotel. There are food courts in both places. Therefore, we estimate about $10.00 per meal.

ROOM ASSIGNMENTS:

We will be letting our students sign up for the room assignments. As much as possible we will let them room with whom they want.

CHAPERONES:

Chaperones are usually chosen from the 8th and 9th grade parents. Usually the parents of the student who is running for state office want to go with us. At this point, I believe we have all the chaperones we need. We assign no more than 10 students per chaperone.

CLOTHES:

Students need to wear school clothes except for the dance and award times-"Sunday" clothes are appropriate for these times.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:

Monday afternoon and evening and Tuesday morning will be our meeting times. Sunday evening and Monday morning will be our free times to go to the mall and tour the hotel. The Christmas lights are spectacular. We usually try to tour the outside of the hotel. We will be returning on Tuesday afternoon. Your child will call you for the estimated time of arrival as we travel home.

PLEASE READ THE CODE OF CONDUCT CAREFULLY WITH YOUR CHILD AND SIGN IT. RETURN IT TO ONE OF THE SPONSORS BY WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 5th.

Our club will also be combining our efforts to organize and implement our campaign for Theresa Jones who is runny for the state Vice Presidential office. We will by necessity be calling afternoon and possibly evening meetings. We ask for your cooperation in this and thank you in advance.
