How to avoid scholarship scams
Rule to remember: If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
The following items are possible red flags for scholarship scams:
Request payment fee | |
Require your credit card number, bank account number, social security number, etc.
Guarantee scholarship winnings
Do not include a telephone number
You are notified as a recipient of a scholarship for which you didn't apply. |
You should not pay money for scholarship searches. You can do this for free through books and the Internet.
